PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Some of you may know that I have written, but never sold, several screen plays.  Hey, Oscar - get ready to roll out the red carpet.  Check out is this idea for a big screen flick about an unfolding humanitarian catastrophe:

The mightiest military that the universe has ever seen surrenders a desperate and strategic war-torn nation, a state-of-the-art air base, biometrics data, and thousands of pieces of equipment - including, at least, 33 Black Hawk helicopters - to a terrorist group then immediately enters into agreements with that oppressive group to provide security for its evacuation.

In hopes of getting as many of its own citizens out of the failing state, the superpower, the planet’s beacon of democracy and fairness, provides a list of people, similar to a guest list at a concert, that it wants evacuated.  The list also includes names of locals who helped fight the very terror group in charge of security, which is now holding the guest list.

Back safely in the seat of power, critics of the stubborn commander-in-chief say the document is essentially a ‘kill list.’  Meanwhile, militants in the hellhole begin going door-to-door finding people on the list.

It is also revealed that the superpower shared intelligence with the terror group.  And, that some of the terror group’s negotiators in this whole process were held in but released from the superpower’s top military prison - an exchange for a captured Army sergeant who allegedly supplied intel to his ‘captures’ - while the current leader was vice president year’s earlier.

On top of that, the free world leader is in a very compromised situation with a rival ‘Frenemy’ country that borders the now lawless territory.  His son has been given billions of dollars in business by the totalitarian regime on the other side of said border.

That regime has also made deals to provide security and economic help to the same terror group in the same war torn country that the superpower is abruptly surrendering.  Essentially, the ‘frenemy’ made deals with the terror group that is providing security for the fleeing superpower which is leaving behind billions of dollars in coveted military equipment.

These nefarious agreements were revealed just after the leader of the superpower announced his plans to withdraw and just after he had a long conversation with the leader of the burgeoning communist government that his nation refuses to sell arms to.

Meanwhile, the struggling, desperate land at the center of strife just happens to be sitting on trillions of dollars of rare earth minerals that the totalitarian rival, which made mega-deal’s with the superpower’s presidential son, desperately needs to power the modern economy it is building in hopes of dominating the world!  An economy also supported by the leader of the exiting empire.

This is all happening as a worldwide pandemic kills millions.  Many believe the scourge was released, intentionally or not, by the tyrants with eyes on global supremacy.  This illness resulted in the shuttering of economies across the world.

Any talk or presented evidence of this theory is immediately shunned, shamed, or censored by the superpower of democracy and the media it controls.

Back home, Unemployment spikes, overdose deaths from synthetic drugs imported from the same rival country skyrocket, and small, independent businesses go bankrupt while the big, politically connected companies and billionaires see their fortunes easily double.

Wow. What a story!  This script would make for an unbelievable Hollywood blockbuster, wouldn’t it?
