One man dead, another injured in two separate shootings

Two people were shot, leaving one man dead after two separate incidents in Pittsburgh overnight.

A 27-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in Elliott.

Police were sent to the 700 block of Lorenz Avenue a few minutes before 10:30 p.m.

Officers found the man inside a residence off Wilna Way.

He was shot several times, taken to Allegheny General in critical condition and pronounced dead a short time later.

Witnesses told police the victim was involved in a fight with another man before the shooting.

A man was in critical but stable condition after being shot early Wednesday in Spring Hill.

Police were notified around 3:15 a.m. of the shooting in the 1300 block of Diana Street.

Officers say the 45-year-old victim was wounded in the torso.

He was conscious and alert before being taken to Allegheny General for surgery.
