A man was shot in the chest early Sunday on the South Side, another was stabbed in Pitcairn.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Carson and South 17th streets.
After hearing the gunfire, officers found a man in his early 30’s in the intersection with a chest wound.
He was transported to a hospital in serious but stable condition.
About three hours earlier, a man was stabbed several times in Pitcairn.
Police say it happened a few minutes before 11:30 p.m. in the 400 block of 2nd Street.
The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
