No, Joe Greene has not died.
In a social media post, someone claimed that the Steelers Hall of Fame defensive end had passed away.
The Steelers confirm to KDKA Radio that "Mean" Joe is indeed alive.
The 79-year-old was the Steelers 1st-round draft pick in 1969 and was the first piece that would become the dominant "Super Steelers" teams of the 1970s, winning four Super Bowl championships.
The Steelers retired Greene's #79 jersey in 2014.
