The early signs of spring are beginning to show.
The Pirates are getting ready to head to Florida for Spring Training and Kennywood, Idlewild and Sandcastle are getting ready for the 2024 season.
Kennywood will open on Saturday, April 20. and will remain open on the weekends through Memorial Day, when daily operations will begin.
Some of the new things coming to Kennywood include the Potato Patch themed bumper cars and an event called “Celebrate Pittsburgh” that will highlight the arts, sports, heritage and more of the area in July.
Idlewild Park and SoakZone will open on May 18 and Sandcastle Waterpark will open on May 25.
Idlewild and Sandcastle have made upgrades and improvements throughout the parks.
