After nearly 20 years, a restaurant in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh is closing its doors for good.
Orient Express, a Cantonese restaurant operating on the 4600 block of Forbes Avenue since 2005 has closed.
A sign on the door announced the closure and was noticed by The Pittsburgh Business Times.
The sign says that the owners of the family business are “all moving onto different chapters”, including the owner May.
She is retiring after over 40 years in the restaurant business.
Stanley, the head chef is taking a couple weeks off but then will be looking for a new job opportunity.
If you love what Orient Express had to offer and know of another job opportunity, you can email him at stan@oeonforbes.com
The owners say a new restaurant will occupy the space this coming fall.
While fans of the Orient Express will miss the food, it looks like the family is going out of business on its own terms.
