Just after 2:30 a.m. early Thursday morning, Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to a call for a structure fire on the 1700 block of Cliff Street.
According to reports, the fire originated in a third floor bedroom where a female victim was taken to safety by another occupant of the home.
The victim was transported to the hospital by paramedics in critical condition.
A second female victim arrived at the hospital by private means for shortness of breath.
An investigation is open to learn the cause of the fire.
