South Side Barber Shop owner details moments that led up to deadly shooting

New details are emerging about Saturday's deadly shooting inside a South Side barber shop.

Ramon Pearce, owner of Bonez Barber Shop on East Carson Street, told KDKA Radio's Michael Bartley two women who knew each other exchanged words before the gunfire.

“The shooter was sitting in the barber chair getting her hair cut and he didn’t want a fight, so my barbers asked them to please let it to, to please take it outside or wherever you came from, this isn’t a place for that,” said Pearce. “The girl that got shot, she put her phone in her pocket and took a step forward, I don’t know if the other girl took that as an act of aggression or not, but she proceeded to shoot her after that.”

25-year-old Myaira Carter is accused of killing 26-year-old Rayon Williams. Carter is in the Allegheny County Jail.

Pearce described the scene after the three shots were fired.

“I couldn’t believe it, it was so loud because it was in doors, close-range, we all just basically dropped to the floor, bounced to the side, ducked behind chairs…” said Pearce.
