State leaders have issued another warning about the spotted lanternfly as more counties are added to the quarantine list.

Washington, Armstrong and Indiana counties were added to the quarantine list this year - prohibiting the movement of the spotted lanternfly at any stage of life.

The state's Agriculture secretary Russell Redding was in Washington County Wednesday spreading the word about why it's so important to squash the problem:

"We have seen the impacts on the timber industry, grape industry, and we have seen them across the state in all types of communities and as much as we know about the spotted lantern fly there's a lot that we don't know."

If you see a spotted lanternfly, it's important to trap and squish them.
