A scene in “National Lampoon’s Animal House” includes a food fight in a college cafeteria.
And that’s what we have in the race for Pennsylvania’s open U.S. Senate seat.
It started with John Fetterman mocking Mehmet Oz’s wealth and residency in a series of Twitter posts.
The Oz campaign responded by calling out Fetterman’s reluctance to debate by mocking his recovery from a stroke.
Tens of millions of dollars in ads from both campaigns feature mostly attacks.
In all this, voters are hearing less about the candidates positions on the issues.

We say Oz and Fetterman should agree to debate, on the issues, and start behaving like people who could be Pennsylvania’s next U.S.
Senator.
A political food fight is not what voters deserve, especially from people who want to decide the nation’s important matters.
