Package delivery delays expected after massive winter storm

Amazon, FedEx, UPS and USPS all affected

Several delivery services have announced possible delays following the massive winter storm that dumped over a foot of snow in many areas of the Pittsburgh region.

Amazon says there could be delays in package deliveries.

"Some deliveries may take longer than usual due to winter storms,” a statement from Amazon said.

Fed Ex has issued a service disruption notice, telling its customers that shipments with a delivery commitment of Monday may be delayed.

Those delays could continue throughout the week.

The delays may not be immediately reflected in the estimated delivery date.

UPS says “some delays are possible” after the storm and that there could be more disruptions due to the weather affecting the company’s Louisville, Kentucky air up.

“We will work to ensure the safety of our employees while minimizing effects on service,” UPS said in a statement. “Contingency plans are in place to help ensure that shipments arrive at their final destinations as quickly as possible.”

The United State Postal Service is also experiencing delays due to the weather.

The storm “may impact the processing, transportation, and delivery of mail and packages,” USPS said in a release.
