A Pittsburgh Council proposal would increase parking meter rates Downtown and on the North Shore to $5 per hour during the upcoming NFL draft.
Increased revenue from higher rates would be used to offset higher Parking Authority expenses including additional manpower needed during the event.
Parking lot and garage rates on the North Shore are expected to be around $200 a day and parking violations would cost $120.
The higher rates and penalties would be in effect from April 22 through April 27.
