If you haven't come up with a plan for July 10, you better get to work.
July 10 is the day that the Parkway East will close from Edgewood/Swissvale to the Squirrel Hill Tunnel through August 3 to replace the Commercial Street Bridge.
This is what will be happening.
“The demolition of the existing Commercial Street Bridge, the sliding of the new structure into position on the current I-376 alignment and the replacement of the bridge approaches,” said Senior Project Manager Michelle Olszewski. “There’s also going to be roadway work, including pavement rehab, asphalt paving and also some repair work in the tunnels.”
