A major gas line project begins tonight in Green Tree, bringing overnight lane restrictions near the Parkway West.
Drivers who use the Parkway West should be prepared for possible delays as Columbia Gas begins a natural gas line replacement project along Greentree Road.
Crews will be digging and replacing pipe between McKinney Lane and Mansfield Avenue, and from Mansfield Avenue to Poplar Street.
The work is scheduled Monday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., with overnight lane closures expected throughout construction.
Columbia Gas says the nighttime schedule is designed to reduce impacts during peak travel times, but motorists should still plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling through the area.
The project is expected to be completed this fall.
