Just days before County Council was set to take a vote on the issue, it looks like there is going to be a new Council President.
Councilmember Dan Grzybek tweeting Friday morning that Pat Catena has elected to step down as Council President.
Seven councilmembers released a statement earlier this month saying they would vote for his ouster from the Presidency at next week's meeting.
This is part of the fallout from a campaign flier for his ill-fated bid for the Pennsylvania State House.
The mailer said the eventual winner in that State House Primary, Brittany Bloam, had the backing of groups who advocate for transgender athletes in sports.
