Penn Brewery is up for Sherriff’s Sale on June 1, but the company says they are not going anywhere.

Owners of the North Side brewery located at 800 Vinial Street in Pittsburgh’s Deutschtown neighborhood, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month, but say it will not close.

A brewery has been there since 1848.

The Allegheny County Sheriff’s website lists three commercial lots for sale on Vinial Street with the starting bid at $2,720.09.

Posting on social media, Penn Brewery says they are “OPEN”.

“Penn Brewery is a tenant occupying only a fraction of the historic building and 4-acre northside complex,” its Facebook page states. “Like many commercial properties, the building itself may change ownership over time, while the businesses operating inside continue serving their customers as usual. Again, the brewery business and the real estate property are not the same thing.”
