
PennDOT has closed the bridge connecting Bridgeville to Interstate 79 for the weekend.
It's being replaced in three phases, part of the renovation of the Bridgeville/I-79 interchange.
The bridge will reopen Monday morning.
Route 50 will be closed around the clock between Millers Run Road and Chartiers Street for demolition and replacement of half the bridge over Chartiers Creek
There will be closures over the next two weekends, weather permitting.
The number of lanes on the bridge is expanding from three to seven.
It’s a $10.7 million accelerated bridge construction project, with pre-fabricated parts.
The closures will happen the next two weekends as well, weather depending.
