2022 was a record year for gambling in Pennsylvania.
The Gaming Control Board reported over $5.2 billion in revenue in 2022, up from last year's record of $4.7 billion.
The Rivers Casino Pittsburgh and Live! Casino Pittsburgh combined brought in about $362 million in slot machine revenue, $103 million in table gaming and nearly $20 million in sports wagering.
Rivers Casino revenue increased about 5.2% and Live! Casino's revenue jumped 10.3% from 2021.
Tax-revenues also saw a record-breaking year brining in over $191 million more than they did in 2021 to bring the total to $2.1 billion in 2022.
Two of the biggest hitters in Pennsylvania were internet gaming and sports betting revenues.
Internet gaming brought in a whopping $1.36 billion with a 22% increase and sports betting brought in $401 million with an 18% increase this past year.
With online gambling being more accessible research has found that high school students with a gambling problem is double that of adults over the past year, which could be a big factor in revenue increases.
