An 18-year-old PennWest California student was found dead early Thursday morning in a car.
Police in California, PA say Karoline Heintz, of McMurray, was found inside a parked car near the California Boro Library on Wood Street just before 12:15 a.m.
A coroner’s report says she was with family earlier in the day and was supposed to return to housing on campus.
But, after she failed to check in with her family, they tracked her location to the vehicle on Wood Street.
911 was alerted. The Washington County Coroner’s Office and PA State Police are investigating.
Classes at PennWest California begin on Monday.
