Pepsi is expanding in southwestern Pennsylvania with a new 150,000 square-foot facility just north of the airport.

Leaders cut the ribbon earlier this week for the brand-new distribution center on the Pittsburgh International campus.

It can accommodate up to 300 employees and will ship up to 10 million cases of drinks each year to locations in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler and Washington Counties.

275 workers from the former McKees Rocks facility were transferred to the new one on International Drive.

"At PepsiCo Beverages North America, we're proud to invest and build for the future, across the North Division. With this new facility, we have upgraded our operation, providing a better experience for our team," said Richard Glover, North Division President, PepsiCo Beverages North America. "We look forward to future growth and strengthening our relationships within this market."

Pepsi can also expand the site another 32,000 square feet in the future.
