Perry Traditional to learn remotely Wednesday after shooting outside of school

UPDATE: Pittsburgh Public Schools says "Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the safety and well-being of the school community" Perry students will learn remotely on Wednesday.

Gunshots outside Perry Traditional Academy resulted in a lockdown at the school Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the high school just after 8 a.m. after a ShotSpotter alert for 11 rounds of gunfire according to officials.

Perry High School on Pittsburgh's North Side was hit by bullets during a shooting outside the school shortly after students arrived.

The school went into lockdown as a precaution.

The early investigation indicates that a juvenile male was the intended target.

There were no injuries. The school sustained some damage and Police are continuing to investigate.
