KDKA Radio Editorial: Pittsburgh - A Place With A Bright Future

Many news stories on a typical day deal with negative events. But not all the developments we’ve covered fall into that category. In the last week, there have been several positive stories ranging from public policy, business, tourism and Pittsburgh’s identity.

- Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato announced the 500 in 500 initiative has reached and passed a goal of finding affordable housing for people transitioning out of being homeless.

- EOS Energy announced it will move its headquarters from New Jersey to Pittsburgh and invest more than $350 million to expand its battery manufacturing operations in the county.

- National Geographic named Pittsburgh one of the top 25 travel destinations in the world, for the second straight time. The city was selected because of projects like the new airport terminal, a growing cultural scene and distinctive neighborhoods.

- Our Audacy brother station 93.7 the Fan was honored with a national Marconi award as the best large market radio station in the United States of America this year.

- Finally, the city proudly unveiled its new Walk of Fame, celebrating ten distinguished inductees. Among them: actor Michael Keaton who spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony of pride in his Pittsburgh roots.

These are five compelling reasons for optimism, evidence that Pittsburgh is a place with a bright future and bigger and better events to come
