The fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson last week, followed by the arrest of suspected shooter Luigi Mangione in Altoona Monday has prompted strong reactions.

Some people online have painted Mangione as a sympathetic figure, pointing to a broken healthcare system in the United States.

On Tuesday afternoon, a single frame from the actual shooting with a quote from Fred Rogers was posted on a Downtown Pittsburgh medical facility.

The quote from Rogers is used during times of great tragedy, especially after September 11, 2001.

“Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping,” the photo says on AHN signage Downtown.

The photos were sent to KDKA Radio’s Colin Dunlap, who noticed the photo of Mangione shortly after 2 p.m.

According to Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, it’s believed Mangione was in several areas of PA after the shooting, including the Pittsburgh area.

Shapiro said during a news conference on Monday, Shapiro commented on those celebrating the shooting. “In some dark corners, this killer is being hailed as a hero. Here me on this, he is no hero.”
