Pirates debut new 'Legacy Hall' at PNC Park

Pirates Legacy Hall

It's being billed as the largest display of Pirates memorabilia at PNC Park.

The team announced the opening of Legacy Hall Wednesday, located right off of Federal Street, near the Stargell statue gate in left field.

Pirates team historian Jim Trdinich tells KDKA Radio, “We put together this great display, it goes back to the 1900s and all the way up to current players. People with tickets to the game can see it starting today so it’s really a great place to see some good Pirates artifacts.”

A few of the items on display include Gold Gloves from Dave Parker and Bill Mazeroski, authentic lockers and artifacts from Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell at Three Rivers Stadium, along with replicas of the World Series trophies from 1960, 1971 and 1979.

Additionally, he says Legacy Hall will serve as the new starting point for PNC Park's popular ballpark tours and is also available as an event space for any occasion.

“We are excited to open a new space that will house and highlight many artifacts and select artwork from our organization’s rich history. Legacy Hall is not just an area to showcase memorabilia; it is also one of the more unique event and meeting spaces in the city, and we look forward to seeing its many uses,” said Pirates President Travis Williams. “We want to thank Denny Heindl and Stephen Wong for loaning items from their personal collections, items that have a deep and special meaning to Pirates history and our fans. We believe this display will be another fun stop for fans visiting PNC Park.”
