Allegheny County Police have charged a Butler County man after he was found with a gun at the Pittsburgh International Airport security checkpoint.
Police say the gun was discovered by TSA officers just after 5:30 on Monday morning in the man’s carry-on bag at the main security checkpoint.
The man has been identified as 43-year-old Garrett Beattie of Cranberry Township.
Police say Beattie did not have a conceal carry permit and is charged with carrying a firearm without a license.
The FBI has been notified of the incident.
No one is allowed to bring a firearm through security at Pittsburgh International. Guns must be secured and in a checked bag.
People who bring guns to a security checkpoint face federal civil fines worth up to $10,000, repeat offenders can face fines of nearly $14,000.
