Pittsburgh Animal control officers rescued 14 living animals and discovered two deceased dogs after entering what they call a deplorable, unoccupied home in the city’s Westwood neighborhood Wednesday.
Officers went to the 1300 block of Barr Avenue following community complaints.
Officers entered the home after hearing animals in distress and smelling a strong odor of decay, urine, and feces.
11 dogs, two puppies, and one cat were removed.
The surviving animals were transferred to Humane Animal Rescue.
No arrests so far as the investigation continues.
