A Consumer Alert has been issued by the Allegheny County Health Department for a local bar/restaurant.
Sam’s Tavern in the Wall, in Aspinwall, was hit with seven total violations, including one considered “high-risk”. The violation was posted on Monday and was inspected on May 2.
Those high-risk violations include mouse dropping seen on a cutting board placed on the bottle shelf a basement food prep area.
Mouse dropping were also found on top of chemical buckets under a dish machine, in the back of coolers, on surfaces along the walls in the basement and in a basement hallway that is used for storage.
One dead mouse was found outside a grease receptacle. That is a repeat violation.
A pest control company says buildup under the fryer is a contributing factor to the ongoing pest issues going back to mid-April.
Other repeat violations found was a part of the kitchen floor “in disrepair” and “heavily soiled” walls and cooking equipment.
Check the Health Department’s website for the latest updates for when the Consumer Alert is lifted.
