A consumer alert has been issued for a convenience store in the Bloomfield area of Pittsburgh.
The Allegheny County Health Department issued the alert for In & Out Corner Market on Penn Avenue in Bloomfield after an inspection on Wednesday, May 8.
An inspection found a high-risk violation of products with chew marks from a rodent.
Four bags of salt and vinegar potato chips had chew marks. The Health Department says that is a repeat violation.
“Fresh rodent droppings” were found in over a dozen areas including on shelves behind products, near a three-bowl sink, on boxes holding cappuccino mix, on shelves behind a counter holding tobacco products and more.
A dead mouse was found along with nesting material in the store.
Another repeat violation observed was a faucet not able to reach all three bowls of the three-bowl sink and lack of a drain stopper.
In total, nine violations were observed.
The Consumer Alert is still active as of Thursday morning. Updates will be made on the Health Department’s website.
