New Census Bureau estimates show southwestern PA lost tens of thousands of residents since 2020.

Allegheny County led the decline with a loss of 16,000 people.

Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties all lost residents as well.

The Pittsburgh Business Times reports Butler and Washington counties are the exceptions.

Combined, the two added about 4,200 people.
