Pittsburgh City Council members are considering giving themselves a raise.
The Post-Gazette reports it would be 7 percent, bringing a council member's salary to just under $87,000.
A City Council attorney says it's not a raise, saying it's a cost of living adjustment council didn't receive during the 13 years the city was under Act 47 state oversight.
Council approved a 22 percent pay increase for itself in 2022, but it was scaled back to 6 percent.
A final vote on the 2024 budget and the salary increases is expected at next Monday's meeting.
