A stabbing and a shooting in different areas of Pittsburgh left two people injured.
A man was stabbed in the chest early Monday in Downtown Pittsburgh.
Police called around 12:45 a.m. to Sixth Avenue at Coffey Way found the man and applied a chest seal until medics arrived.
He was sent to a hospital in stable condition.
Officers were told the man was involved in an altercation with another man prior to the stabbing.
A short time later, police took a suspect into custody.
And, a man shot four times in Homewood North last night is expected to survive.
It happened around 9 p.m. at the corner of Frankstown Avenue and Sterrett Street.
ShotSpotter alerted police to 31 rounds fired in the area.
Officers found the victim a few blocks away on the 7300 block of Race Street.
He was conscious and alert when taken to a hospital in stable condition.
