A Domino’s Pizza location in the Pittsburgh area has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department following an inspection.
Domino’s on Frankstown Road in Penn Hills was ordered closed on Thursday due to an “imminent hazard” caused by sewage backup.
An inspection shows that a grease trap in the building’s basement was “overflowing with wastewater and food debris pooling on the ground around it.”
Inspectors the issue seems to be chronic and reoccurring.
Also, the women’s restroom is out of order and there is a weak flushing toilet in the men’s room.
The ACHD says the sewage backup must be repaired, followed by emptying the entire basement and sanitizing it, among other things
There also appears to be black mold, which can be hazardous to health, in the basement.
Updates to the closure can be found here.
