This 4th of July will mark America’s 250th birthday, and to help celebrate, local officials are bringing in a Ferris Wheel, which was invented in Pittsburgh
“This is going to be right next to Acrisure Stadium, looking back at the city so you can watch the fireworks from the wheel and it’s just going to awesome to hop on the Salute to Service wheel and be able to look back at the Point and look back at the city,” real estate developer Lucas Piatt tells KDKA Radio.
The Ferris wheel will be running from July 1 through July 5.
He tells the Big K Morning Show that the Salute to Service Wheel will be a prelude to what they're planning for the Esplanade project, which will include a big, permanent wheel on the North Shore.
Half of all proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Veterans Leadership Program.
