Despite the accolades the city received after hosting a very NFL Draft, the bottom line isn't pretty.

City Controller Rachael Heisler released the 2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

Pittsburgh brought in $687 million dollars in 2025 and on the other side of the ledger was $732 million dollars in spending.

That is a $44 million deficit.

City controller Rachael Heisler explained that without the Federal American Rescue dollars.

Heisler had warned everyone that we were spending more money than we were bringing in.

One of the crippling expenses was one million dollar a month to maintain the city's fleet.

Heisler is encouraging more people to move to Pittsburgh and invest in the city.

Pittsburgh is the only national market where it is cheaper to buy than to rent.

She also has advocated to lower barrier for first time home buyers.
