PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio KDKA) — Early Sunday morning, Pittsburgh Police and firefighters responded to a brushfire at the West End Overlook building.
First responders arrived at the scene around 4:45 a.m. after receiving calls from eyewitnesses claiming that three males, believed to be around 18 years old, were seen trying to break the glass doors going into the building.
Instead, the males set fire to decorative bunting on the outlook railing that jumped into the nearby brush on the neighboring hillside.
However, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it got out of hand.
The male suspects then fled the scene toward Rue Grande Vue Street and Lorenz Avenue.
Pittsburgh Fire is asking for the public’s help on this matter; if anyone has information regarding the incident, they’re asked to contact Detective Burns at the Fire Investigation Unit at 412-782-7646.
