The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire is opening the station doors to the public with its first-ever Citizens Fire Academy.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire is giving residents a chance to find out through its first-ever Citizens Fire Academy.
The free, seven-class program runs from September 2 through October 14 and offers hands-on training in firefighting techniques, emergency response and fire safety alongside Pittsburgh firefighters.
Participants must be at least 18 years old, live in Pittsburgh, Wilkinsburg or Ingram, and be able to take part in physical activities, including lifting 20 to 30 pounds.
Space is limited, and registration is now open on the department’s website.
