The Pittsburgh area is going to get its first taste of winter, but it will be just a small one.
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Cad Merrill tells KDKA Radio a “pretty powerful” cold front is going to move through the area Saturday into Sunday.
Temperatures on Saturday will only get up to the mid-50s and will dip into the mid-to-upper 30s overnight into Sunday.
Merrill says that could leave a “moderate frost” on the ground Sunday morning that would bring an end to the growing season in the area.
The good news, after a breezy and rainy evening Friday, things will be dry well into next week.
Temperatures will also rebound with highs throughout the 60s into next weekend with plenty of sunshine.
