Looking to free up parking, beautify the city and address community concerns, the City of Pittsburgh is launching an abandoned vehicle blitz.
According to the Pennsylvania vehicle code, vehicles are presumed abandoned when they are inoperable and unattended for more than 48 hours.
Remained illegally on a highway or public property for more than 48 hours or if a vehicle has been on private property without the owner’s consent for more than 24 hours.
The majority of the vehicles that are listed to be towed have been abandoned for weeks, months or even years.
