A social club in Pittsburgh has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.
Inspectors say that Empire Lounge on Eckert Street in Brighton Heights was operating without a valid permit.
In its Instagram stories, business said, “Empire Lounge Be Back Soon . . . Stay Tuned In.”
Formally known as SAPPs and before that from the early 1990s through 2012 was the Pittsburgh Eagle, a gay club, the building is right near the bridge that moves Ohio River Boulevard over Woods Run on the North Side.
The lounge offers food along with DJs, dancing and more.
