A Pittsburgh man is headed back to prison after federal prosecutors say he stole mail for the third time.
58-year-old Tyrone Mobley of East Hills was sentenced to 27 months behind bars after pleading guilty to stealing a package from an apartment building in Pittsburgh's Oakland-Shadyside area.
Investigators say the package had been shipped through the U.S. Postal Service and taken from the building’s mailbox area while Mobley was already under federal supervision for a prior mail theft conviction.
A federal judge called mail theft a serious crime that violates victims’ privacy and undermines trust in the postal system.
