Friday headlines

Pittsburgh's Headlines: September 18, 2026

A market in Pittsburgh has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.

Inspectors say Yasmine Market on Brownsville Road in Carrick was ordered closed after several issues were discovered.

The facility was operating without a valid permit.

Also, milk was found for sale that is already past the sell-by-date, along with foods found with mold and “improper cooling procedures.”

Other issues include malfunctioning refrigeration units and poor sanitation practices.

There was also evidence of pests found in the market.

The closure alert was posted on September 17 and remains active as of Friday, September 18.

Any updates to the market’s status can be found on the Allegheny County Health Department’s website.
