Pittsburgh Police are mourning the "unexpected" loss of a K9 officer.
The K9 United announced that six-year-old Belgian Malinois K9 Officer Miky died after a medical emergency on Wednesday.
Miky and his handler, Officer Matt Schwartzmiller, graduated from Pittsburgh Police's K9 School in January 2020.
After graduation Miky became a patrol and narcotic dog.
"K9 Miky will be greatly missed by Officer Schwartzmiller and his wife and children, as well as the entire PBP family," Pittsburgh Police said in a statement.
