Pittsburgh Police officer accused of DUI for 2nd time in 5 years

A Pittsburgh police officer is on paid administrative leave, accused of driving under the influence for the second time in five years.

Police say Sergeant Tariq Jamal-Francis was asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle parked in Plum Borough.

Officers say his car was partly in the road on November 10.

The criminal complaint says Jamal-Francis told officers he was with Pittsburgh Police and had been drinking at a nearby bar.

Testing showed his blood alcohol content was about four times the legal limit.

Jamal-Francis was charged with DUI in 2021 after a traffic accident in Plum.
