A popular Pittsburgh restaurant that has been open since 1948 abruptly closed over the weekend.
Drew’s Family Restaurant in Forest Hills had been operating on Ardmore Boulevard for about 76 years.
A customer and employee Facebook page confirmed the news.
“It hasn't been easy for anyone involved over the last few days, but we just wanted to reach out to everyone who has supported us!” the post read. “Thank you for your patronage over the years, we couldn't have made it as long as we did without all of you!”
The owners announced last fall they were trying to sell the restaurant to new owners that would continue to operate Drew’s, but that apparently didn’t happen.
Drew’s was known for its Ruben sandwiches, burgers, breakfast and more.
