Popular Pittsburgh restaurant closing after nearly 40 years in business

Murray Avenue Grill is closing its doors after nearly 40 years of business.

The announcement on social media says the last day at the popular Squirrel Hill restaurant will be Sunday, December 28.

“Since our founding in 1986 it has been our privilege to serve this community and to build lasting relationships with our customers, employees, and neighbors,” the restaurant said in a post.

Owner Brian Allenbaugh told the Pittsburgh Business Times a number of factors, including economic conditions after the pandemic, led to his decision.

“Though the business is coming to a close, the legacy of these years will remain with us always.”
