A restaurant in Bloomfield has been ordered closed after an inspection by the Allegheny County Health department.
La Brasa Nostra on Baum Boulevard in Bloomfield was ordered closed earlier this week after an inspector found a walk-in cooler at a temperature well above the food safety zone of 41 degrees.
An inspection says the temperature in the cooler was 54 throughout the inspectors visit and didn’t changed during his time in the restaurant.
“The facility only has one prep cooler that is functional. This is not enough adequate refrigeration to be able to operate safely,” an inspection reads.
The inspection also responded to a customer complaint that they were served raw chicken in a to-go order.
The inspector writes the restaurant does not have a probe thermometer and the correct cooking temperature was not known by the staff.
A lack of handwashing was also observed.
