A restaurant in the City of Pittsburgh has been ordered closed after evidence of a rodent infestation.
La Cantina by Madero on Atwood Street in Central Oakland was ordered closed on Thursday, according to the Allegheny County Health Department.
The requested inspection found 15 total violations including one considered high-risk.
The inspection reports “too-many-to-count mouse dropping on the floor under the pre-scrub sink.”
Mouse droppings were also found under a sugar storage shelf.
Two of the restaurant’s four floor drains were found to be clogged including one showing current backup. Those violations are considered a medium-risk violation.
Also, a malfunctioning wastewater disposal system was causing wastewater to pool in the food prep area.
