Pittsburgh River Rescue saved a dog stuck in the Ohio River on Monday night.

Pittsburgh Public Safety says Police and EMS were dispatched after a dog fell over a hillside behind the 1600 block of West Carson street near tied-up barges.

The dog’s owner and other good Samaritans tired to get the dog out of the water for a half hour but were unable to rescue it.

River Rescue deployed a boat and a paramedic rescue diver jumped into the river and was able to get the dog back to safety on the boat.

Paramedics say the dog didn’t suffer any injuries and was only “cold and wet.”

Animal Care and Control then reunited the dog with its owner.
