A man accused of scamming seniors in several states including Western Pennsylvania has pleaded guilty in federal court to a series of charges.
26-year-old Engels Valerio of the Dominican Republic, living in Paterson, New Jersey, faces up to 20 years in jail and a half million dollars in fines.
Prosecutors say he would call elderly people, saying a grandchild or another relative was in an accident or under arrest and needed money immediately.
He'll be sentenced in September.
