After a Consumer Alert was issued for a convenience store in Pittsburgh earlier this month, the business has been ordered closed after its latest reinspection.
In & Out Corner Market on Penn Avenue in Bloomfield was ordered to close on Monday, by the Allegheny County Health Department, after a third reinspection.
The store continues to deal with a rodent infestation.
Inspectors say two packages of granola bars were seen chewed and rodent droppings were found in boxes of cookies, granola bars, chips, ramen noodles and more.
Droppings were also seen behind jars of tomato sauce.
Those are repeat and “high” violations.
In addition, a “green and white mold-like substance” was seen on a shelf with soda.
The market has been re-inspected three times since an initial inspection on March 15.
The Closure order was posted on May 20 and remains active on the Health Department’s website as of May 21.
